Oddly, I was never much of a Miley fan until I saw an interview about this song. I don't care for the song, actually. A bit patronizing/jingoistic for me. The interviewer asked her what made her write the song. (paraphrasing)
“I didn't write it. I thought it would be a hit.”

“I don't really listen to Jay-Z. Like I said, I didn't write the song.”

What is it about this song? When I first heard it I swore it was the worst song I'd ever heard.. then I kept hearing and found that it was constantly playing in my brain. Now I find myself looking for it on my ipod. But I still hate it. And kinda love it.

I think the song is just infectious… like a disease, no one WANTS to catch the flu, but you know, you're at a party, a bunch of other people have it, next thing you know you're laying on the bathroom floor wishing for death. This song, same thing.

I looked for this at my karaoke place last night, but while the place had every song from the Hannah Montana movie, they didn't have this. As it's clearly the best song of all time, I immediately left. After singing Patrick Swayze's “She's Like the Wind” five times, I mean.
